Artistic Events
Artistic events are a combination of the art of facilitation with creative activity. The participants' task during such trainings is to prepare an artistic performance, theatre show or street happening. Emotional potential that appears during artistic performances is enormous: participants, who spend most of their time behind the desk, transform into drumming masters, capoeira dancers or circus magicians. Through this they want to say what's most important to them and to enjoy the magnificent performace they have created.
An artistic event gains social meaning when the audience are children. We often stage the performances in the country, where theatre is not so popular. When we add some educational character to the performance, the profit and satisfaction for the children are even greater.
Preparing a performance for the audience heats up the atmosphere and the pressure of time and outcome is as real as in everyday work!
The method of artistic events is efficient through:
- a clear metaphor: preparations before the performance are a metaphor of everyday work - involvement of mind, body and emotions - reality of the challenge - genuine audience
During the preparation stage coaches work with the teams on the comprehension and transmission of the experience onto the ground of everyday work.
Working on an artistic event may be interpreted as the metaphor of: - team working on a project - leadership as the skill of inspiring and motivating the team to undertake challenges - managerial skills: project management, time ands information flow management, seeing to motivation, cooperation and goal achievement
and this is why the training goals in this method have to do with:
- team building - leadership - developing managerial skills - working on the development of corporate culture - integration
Each of the artistic events we have realised so far held between 7 and 450 participants! All of these events were successful!
It wouldn't have been possible without: - the skills of the coaches and artists cooperating with Pathways - good logistics and work organisation - passion and involvement of all participants
